Half term for the full Showzam!

In all more than 70 entertainers will take the streets of Blackpool, performing in venues and entertaining crowds in the Winter Gardens during the five-day festival.

A spectacular array of shows will take place at the famous Blackpool Tower Circus and iconic Winter Gardens, as well as in and around the streets of the town.

There is also the hugely popular Carnival Ball which will be held in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom Saturday 14 February.

Festival-goers will be entertained by day with acts performing at Showzam! Central in the Winter Gardens and in the form of street theatre throughout the town centre.

In the evening audiences will be entertained by Canadian madmen and brothers of bodily abuse, Monsters of Schlock, performing amazing feats and mind-blowing stunts.

There is also the delights and hilarity of cabaret queen Abigail Collins, with song, dance, hula hoops, magic and her favourite cocktails (served on her head) making this a hilarious, off-the-wall, one-woman roller-coaster of a show.

There will also be a range of free workshops and heritage tours for all the family.

Michael Trainor is Artistic Director at LeftCoast – the organisation commissioned to programme this year’s festival – and he said Showzam! 2015 promises to be fun-packed.

Michael said: “We’re looking forward to a fantastic Showzam! Our programme is aimed primarily at children and young people but it will also entertain adults alike.

“Showzam! is a great festival for Blackpool and really kicks off the new year ahead of all the other fantastic events that will take place over the course of the year.”
