Oh yes it is... it’s time to get ready for another superb panto season

The colourful costumes, wonderful wigs and magical makeup have been brought out of the cupboard once again to get stars spruced up for this year’s panto season.

There’s a whole host of shows planned across Lancashire and beyond - with family favourites returning to popular locations to make sure that everyone young and old can enjoy the annual traditional.

In Preston’s Guild Hall Cinderella will take over the Charter Theatre.

For the fifth year running, Ted Robbins will again be at the helm, writing, directing and starring as Baron Hardup.

This will be Ted’s fifth panto since he took over and he has broken box office records each year. Cinderella runs from Tuesday December 3 to Tuesday December 31.

Over in Chorley the magic carpet is coming out as Aladdin is performed in the Lancastrian Suite at Chorley Town Hall. The panto will be staged Saturday November 30 for a magical one-off performance of the classic tale.

Pendle Productions will be returning to work with Chorley Council for another year to perform the extremely popular pantomime to a family audience from 1pm until 3.30pm with doors opening at 12.45pm.

Places are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Also in Chorley from December 13 to December 21 Snow White will be staged at Chorley Little Theatre.

At the Lowther Pavilion in LythamSt Annes more than 250 youngsters will perform in the 39-performance run of Mother Goose, which is set to begin on December 9.

At The Grand Theatre in Blackpool families will be entertained by Peter Pan. The first performance is on Friday December 6 and runs until Sunday January 5.

The show will star Tom Lister (Emmerdale’s Carl King), BBC Radio Lancashire and Family favourite Steve Royle, Radio Wave Breakfast host Hayley Kay and BBC The Voice contestant Jordan Lee Davies. The cast will be joined by comedy acrobats The Nitwits and the very talented boys and girls from Barbara Jacksons schools of Dance.

At St Mary’s Centre in Church Street, Clitheroe Mother Goose will be performed from December 2 to December 7.

Mother Goose is also the choice in Lancaster, the panto will be staged at the Lancaster Grand Theatre throughout December.

In Leyland St Ambrose Players will perform Dick Whittington from December 3 to December 7.
