Sean’s show is a feelgood affair

You can see comedian Sean Hughes in a different light when he appears at Lancaster’s Dukes theatre next Wednesday.

Life Becomes Noises has been described as one of the feelgood shows of the year – even though it focuses on how Hughes has dealt with his father’s death.

It is a poignant tale that goes to places comedy rarely visits.

Sean Hughes first hit the comedy scene in the late 1980s and went on to win the prestigious Perrier Award.

His sitcom Sean’s Show was nominated for the 1992 Best Comedy Award for Best Channel 4 Sitcom and from 1996-2002, he was a team captain on Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

Sean has continued to tour extensively, presented radio shows and, as well as comedy, has written novels and collections of prose and poetry and worked on a number of films.

Among his recent TV acting roles, he played Eileen Grimshaw’s love interest, Pat, in Coronation Street.

Comedy at The Dukes is recommended for anyone aged 16+.
