Smug’s race for Red Nose space
Legendary Manchester comic Smug Roberts is inviting hospitals, fire stations, synagogues , churches, mosques, retirement homes and businesses in the North West to be host venues on his whirlwind one-day tour of the region on February 28 in aid of Comic Relief.
Any organisation with workers, patients or residents in need of a laugh can apply in return for a donation to Comic Relief. Smug plans 20 gigs, each lasting 20 minutes, on the 24 hour tour.
The ‘20’ theme is to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the launch of Smug’s career on February 28, when Caroline Aherne spotted him at the Frog & Bucket in Manchester.
