If you’re not a fan of panto but still want to enjoy a festive night out at a show, Blackpool’s famous Opera House is the place for you.

Veteran musical star Tommy Steele returns as the ultimate Christmas humbug, Ebeneezer Scrooge, is Leslie Bricusse’s spectacular stage adaptation of Charles Dickens seasonal favourite.

Scrooge - The Musical opens at the Winter Gardens venue on Monday Decenber 16 December and runs through until Saturday December 21.

Steele made the role his own when he starred in a run at the London Palladium that sent him catapulting into the record books.

Bricusse based his musical on Dicken’s enduring classic, A Christmas Carol, and the production features stunning sets and fabulous costumes.

For a touch of extra festive magic, the production has enlisted special effects giant Paul Kieve, who was behind many of the fabulous illusions which brought the Harry Potter movies to life.

There is also a fantastic musical score underpinning this smash hit show, including the Oscar nominated hit, Thank You Very Much.

And, to make this Christmas treat even better, children can get in for free when accompanied by a paying adult to performances from Monday to Thursday.
