Theatrical heritage is a Grand idea
Blackpool’s Grand Theatre celebrates Heritage Open Day during its 120th birthday year on Saturday morning.
The venue will open its doors to enthusiasts of architecture, theatre and history for a free tour.
The theatre opened on July 23, 1894, having been built by leading architect Frank Matcham. It remains one of the few surviving examples of his work.

The Grand took nine months to build, and cost £20,000, part of which was raised from a circus staged for five summer seasons on the site of the theatre.
