Blackburn actor and writer Gemma Flannery worked with director Charlie Mortimer, from Chorley, and actors Laura Hills-Leigh, from Leyland, and Amy Dee, from Warrington, ato create Digging Deep, a play about what we sometimes do to uncover secrets, suspicions and fears.

Inspired by true stories, it shows the difficult, often turbulent relationship between sisters who are both keeping secrets from each other.

Gemma Flannery has worked closely with the police and vulnerable groups and this play, which premiered in November, is written to show the effect of psychological and physical abuse.

Digging Deep runs at Korova, 15-16 St Wilfrid Street, off Fishergate. Tickets are £5 or £4. Box office: www.wegottickets.com/theatrebynumbers
