And, despite being based in Plymouth, the concert is something of a home-coming for two members of the six-piece band.

Gareth LePage said: “We are particularly looking forward to this as Sam Copp (lead guitar) comes from Preston and Andy Quick (lead vocals) come from Blackpool – so bit of a homecoming for them.

“We’re currently on a 17-date debut UK tour dubbed Pleased to Meet You Pt 1. We’re venturing as far as Glasgow in our trusty rust bucket van called Cheryl.

They are supported by local act Bad Cardigans (a two-piece acoustic indie) and Jess Harwood (singer-songwriter).

It’s free entry and doors open at 8pm.

Land of the Giants’ music fuses many musical styles, from rock to reggae, ska to blues, with a sub heavy helping of dub in the mix.

2013 saw them grace the stages of Glastonbury, Lemonfest, Maker, Looe Music Festival, Bris Fest, and Landed in Wales.

They were billed on the main stage at Boardmasters warming up for Basement Jaxx, The Vaccines, and Ben Howard, and have opened shows for The Levellers, Roots Manuva, and Neville Staple.

They are currently on their debut national tour following the digital release of their live album .
