McDonald's Drive-Thrus in Preston, Chorley and Leyland have reopened today with a reduced menu - this is what you need to know

McDonald's has reopened 168 drive-thru restaurants across the country today, including five in and near Preston.

The fast food chain, which closed its doors in March following the Covid-19 outbreak, is also expected to open a further 22 restaurants for McDelivery.

From today you'll be able to grab a fast food snack from one of these drive-thru restaurants in the city:

Preston Riversway, Pedders Way, Preston PR2 2TX

Preston Deepdale, Deepdale Retail Park, Preston PR1 6QY

Capitol Centre, The Capitol Centre Retail Park, Preston PR5 4AW

Chorley - Clifford Street, Clifford Street, Chorley PR7 1AQ

Leyland, Churchill Way, Leyland PR25 3LZ

The following restaurants will remain closed:

Preston Fishergate, 213, Fidhergate Shopping Centre, Preston PR1 8HJ

Preston Friargate, 174 Friargate, Preston PR1 2EJ

Asda Fulwood, Pitman Way, Preston PR2 9NP

What safety measure will be in place?

McDonalds are taking a number of steps to help protect customers and staff, including running reduced hours and serving a reduced menu.

The fast food chain will also have fewer people working on each shift, and we will be introducing new measures including additional screens in kitchen and service areas to help staff follow social distancing rules.

Contactless payment methods will also be encouraged, but spending will be capped at £25.

What are the new opening times?

For now McDonald's restaurants will be running reduced hours from 11am and 10pm.

What is available on the reduced menu?

The good news is you will still be able to enjoy many of the fast food chain's favourites, including:

• Vegetable Deluxe

• Hamburger

• Cheeseburger

• Double cheeseburger

• Apple and Grape Fruit Bag

• McFlurry (Malteasers, Smarties, Oreo)

Unfortunately, McDonald's breakfast fans will be left disappointed, as breakfast items will remain unavailable for now, along with the Chicken Legends and milkshakes.
