Dragon's Den star Theo Paphitis backs Chorley business
Television business guru Theo Paphitis has leant his support to a Chorley business.
The Dragons’ Den star singled out family-run Fence and Drain on his weekly Small Business Sunday competition.
Every Sunday Paphitis invites small business owners from across the UK to send him a tweet to promote their business.
He then chooses his six favourite entries and promotes then via his Twitter account and the winners were invited to an event in Birmingham to meet the television personality.
Fence and Drain’s founding director Maria Calderbank was among a party of businesswomen from Lancashire-based Pink Ladies networking group invited to the get together. Maria said: “It was a delight to be selected out of the many tens of thousands that enter, I’d highly recommend any business owner to have a go – all it takes is the time you spend on writing your tweet, and if you’re chosen by Theo the benefits are incredible.”
Fence and Drain is based in Ulnes Walton Lane and provides fencing, drainage and land reclamation services throughout the UK with clients including Manchester City Football Club and Wembley Stadium.
Coral Horn, founder of Pink Link, accompanied the ladies on the day and said: “It was a great honour to attend the event. We made the most of the day, networking and learning tips.
“The chance to meet Theo was a unique opportunity, I am proud that so many of our ladies have done so well.”
Paphitis said: “I admire people who have passion and energy. If you cannot bore your friends to death about your own small business, then something is seriously wrong.”
