Mel, 30, is a personal trainer who runs a studio in Dollywaggon Way, Bamber Bridge, while Emma is a hairdresser with her own salon, Blossom Hair and Beauty just yards away.

"But we've done this three times now. We want to get back, work six or seven days a week, and save up incase it happens again."

She added: "I opened the salon in October 2019, so I've actually been closed for longer than I've been open. I want to get a full 12 months to see how everything is going."

Emma, from Hoghton, said that she is fully booked up for weeks ahead and expects an "electric" atmosphere from her clients, as they are finally allowed to be pampered.

She said: "It's so amazing to see people so happy. After the other lockdowns, they were bringing in chocolates for us and everything."
