New look for cafe and bar at Preston station
A planning application has been submitted to Preston City Council for internal refurbishment to both the Upper Crust cafe and the Hero’s Bar.
Both are located on the central platforms of the 179-year-old railway station on Fishergate.

Hide AdThe plans, submitted by Yorkshire-based agent PDS Design and Build, are set to redesign the two units between Platform Three and Platform Four, with new furniture and flooring set for Upper Crust.
Plans are for Hero’s Bar to be renamed The Beer House, with physical alterations to the business’s bar counter and to the upper section of the back bar area, with new flooring and furniture to accompany it.
The news comes after wider redevelopment plans which the railway station, which have been going on for many months.
In June, a new entrance to the station on Butler Street was opened as part of a £2m refurbishment of the station by Virgin Trains.

Hide AdOther new perks include free high-speed wifi access, additional parking spaces and a bicycle hub, which enables people to cycle to the station and then leave their bikes for the day while they commute to work by train.
The city’s bus station has also recently seen investment through Lancashire County Council, with stage one of the redevelopment of its concourse open to the public back in May.
It will also be the home to the city’s new Youth Zone.
