Brownedge St Mary's Catholic High School GCSE results: the Bamber Bridge school has improved on its pre-pandemic success

Brownedge has excelled in its academic success shown before the pandemic, for instance the percentage of pupils achieving 5+ in English and maths has significantly increasing since 2019.

Mrs Oddie, Headteacher said “Today our pupils receive their GCSE results and after a rollercoaster ride over the past two and a half years pupils have shown their superb work ethic and outstanding ability to rise to any challenge placed in front of them. They have worked relentlessly to achieve today’s amazing GCSE results. These results further stem from the school’s culture of inclusivity and high expectations and show how important it is to rise to any challenge with a positive mindset. They also are a testament to the hard work put in by dedicated staff to make sure our children have the best chance to succeed in and out of the classroom.

“Brownedge pupils continue to go from strength to strength. Our results have been improving over recent years and this year is no exception. However, we know our pupils are so much more than the GCSE results they achieve. They have inspired us all and truly have excelled in our school mission of‘letting their light shine’. From our most able pupils gaining an array of the very highest grades to the pupils who have made the most progress across all subject areas. They are now in a strong position to ostep out onto their next journey in learning, and able to make a difference to the world around them.”
