Staff at Edge Hill University are planning to make the most of technology to host a lockdown open day.... virtually.

Prospective students to discover more about courses, life on campus and how the university has been shaping minds and changing futures since 1885 without leaving their seats.

Staff are hoping the experience will be just like the real thing when the doors doors are flung open next Saturday, November 14

Potential applicants and their families will be able to view the award-winning campus, classrooms, accommodation and meet their lecturers, all online and from the convenience of their own homes.

Director of student recruitment and administration Liam Owens said: "The previous virtual open days we held were a huge success thanks to the imagination and innovation of our staff who made the whole thing possible.

"These new open days will be a great opportunity to find out more about our award-winning teaching, facilities and why it’s a place where opportunity knows no bounds."

Throughout the day of virtual activities and information sessions, prospective students will be able to question their future course tutors, talk to current students about their experiences of studying at Edge Hill and find out everything they need to know about fees and accommodation. Each day features live sessions and on-demand lectures.

The university is also offering in-person campus tours throughout November, December and January.

These Covid-secure campus tours for only for groups from the same household, are led by a student guide, and provide a chance

to see the campus first hand and get a taste of the student experience.
