Runshaw, in Leyland, which is accessible from across the North West including close transport links to Bolton and Chorley, is ready to welcome the next generation of students when they pick up their exam results in August.

They could end up joining the likes of Bafta-winning actor Joe Gilgun – Emmerdale’s Eli Dingle; renowned musician Lloyd Cole; Chorley-born Michelin-star chef Mark Birchall; Olympic bronze medallist pole-vaulter Holly Bradshaw or actor and comedian John Thompson from Cold Feet and Coronation Street, all inspirational and exceptional former alumni.

Not all go on to become household names but many go on to university and fantastic careers – with many being offered places at top Russell Group universities or gaining apprenticeships with world-ranked companies such as Bentley and Aerospace.

Last year was a record-breaking year for the college with one-in-three Runshaw students progressing to elite (Russell Group) universities, such as Oxford and Cambridge, and to a range of highly prestigious dance, music and drama academies.

This month the college will be celebrating some of their high-profile alumni and will also be enrolling its next cohort of students, with enrolment days on Thursday, August 25 and Friday, August 26.
