Here is what is happening in Preston and Chorley for Learning Disability Week: June 17 to June 23
Caritas Care organised a large awareness event at Preston's Flag Market earlier this week, working with a number of organisations: Spire, Mix ‘n’ Match, Holywell Care, Integrate, UCLan, Carousel, NW Ambulance Service, Advocacy Focus, Dance Syndrome and Health Watch.
During the event, REACT self advocacy group launched its Pat Afflick Award which will be given out each year to someone who has done a lot for people with disabilities. The award was created in honour of Integrate worker Pat who died of cancer in February.
