While only a handful of councils across Lancashire have planned their own small tributes to coincide with the national ceremony, they will all come together officially to remember Prince Philip tomorrow.
A special memorial service, attended by the county’s Mayors, will be held at Blackburn Cathedral at 4pm and streamed live to thousands watching at home.

And councils are being advised to remain Covid-aware in anything they organise by way of a tribute to the Duke who passed away eight days ago just two months short of his 100th birthday.
Preston Council marked the occasion today by issuing a statement from Mayor Coun David Borrow in which he said: “The city of Preston has had the honour of welcoming His Royal Highness on a number of occasions and the people of Preston are joined in our collective mourning at his passing.”
South Ribble and Chorley Councils both said they intended to mark the occasion using their social media channels “to share appropriate content and messages of condolence.”
A spokesperson said: “We will be joining the national minute’s silence at 3pm and encouraging others to do so.” Both have opened books of condolence on their websites.
