The new facility, complete with state-of-the-art technology, comes just as many car owners are preparing to take their vehicle for its first MOT.
March 2014 saw the highest number of new registrations that year – around half a million. It means those vehicles will now need to undergo their first MOT.
Drivers with a ’14’ registration plate are being urged to check their paperwork now to ensure they don’t fall foul of the law.

Hide AdBecause of the high numbers, garages across the country are gearing up for a busy period, making it even more important than usual for car owners to book in early – even for routine maintenance work like services, brake and exhaust checks.
The latest Halfords Autocentre will open for business on Wednesday, 29 March, when the Mayor, Cllr John Collins, cuts the ribbon and kicks off a series of exclusive price cut launch offers for customers.
To mark its launch, the new Halfords Autocentre has unveiled a string of special deals for customers.
Motorists can benefit from ten per cent discount on servicing, while MOTs are just £29.99.

Visitors to Halfords Autocentres also have the chance to win a brand new Peugeot 308 GTi.
Customers can kick back and relax in the bright and spacious reception, enjoy a free tea or coffee and either watch TV while their vehicle is worked on by qualified technicians, or watch them while they work.
The free Wifi means there’s even a chance to catch up on work emails.

Hide AdTo suit busy customers, the new centre is to operate extended opening hours, including Sundays and bank holidays.
According to David Nicholson, Preston Autocentre manager, affordable prices mean motorists can keep their vehicle in good condition, stay on the right side of the law and have peace of mind.

The new garage is the city’s second Autocentre - the other is at Riversway Retail Park. It brings the number of Halfords Autocentres in the UK to 315.
