Supporting Lancashire-based Holland’s brand-new Family Pie range, each celebrity is representing a flavour of pie.

But it is the fans who must decide which flavour should be crowned the best.

Actor Will Mellor is campaigning for Potato & Meat, baking superstar Briony Williams will be representing Cheese & Onion, and ITV This Morning Flowerpot Corner presenter Antonella Brollini will stand for Mince Beef & Onion.

As the celebs’ campaign speeches commence on Facebook and Twitter, pie-enthusiasts can cast their vote via the Holland’s Pies website and be entered into a prize draw to win a year’s supply of proper tasty family pies!

Five winners will be selected at random, with entries closing before midnight on Sunday March 7.

Will said: “I grew up on Potato & Meat pies - they’re the best! There’s never been a better marriage of flavours than vegetables and meat in a shortcrust pastry.

"If you are going to vote this British Pie Week, vote for me and Potato & Meat Pies now – you know it makes sense!”

Briony said: “I’m leading the charge for the tasty Cheese & Onion pie! I am an expert when it comes to baking, so I know this has an amazing flavour and incredible pastry.

"It’s too ‘gouda’ a choice! That’s cheesy of me I know, but make sure you vote for Cheese and Onion!”

Antonella added: “Cheese and potatoes? Please tell them to shut their pie holes! It has been left to your Auntie Nelly to pie-oneer the Mince Beef and Onion movement and I do love a bit of beef. So, get behind the fight for Mince Beef & Onion- you know you want to!”

Leanne Holcroft, Brand Manager for Holland’s Pies said: “British Pie Week is one of the biggest weeks in the pie calendar, so we’re excited to be rallying up our amazing fans to choose their favourite flavour of Family Pie and to help us crown a champion! We know the decision will be tough and may cause divisions, but there can only be one winner. So which celebrity and flavour will reign supreme?”

With tough measures still in place across the North West, the much-loved, Lancashire pie baker will also be donating 170 pies every day this week to charities and food banks, to mark the occasion and to mark 2021 as its 170th anniversary.
