War of the Roses is a re-enactment happening at Hoghton Tower this weekend

Link Strictly Social Dances, Chorley, Saturday, June 10

This event is being held at Chorley Town Hall from 8pm until 11.30pm. '‹You can expect modern sequence,'‹ ballroom, modern jive and superb music. At the last two events, more than 120 dancers glided across the beautiful ballroom floor. Doors open from 7.45pm. Admission is £6.50 for Link members, and guests welcome from £7.50. Magic of the Musicals, Buckshaw Village, Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11

Buckshaw Community Centre is the venue for this show by Buckshaw VAMP. Tickets priced at £8 adults, £6 children and £20 for a family ticket.

Health Walk, Longton, Thursday, June 8

A gentle walk around Longton Brickcroft to help you get fit and stay fit. The distance covered is no more than two and a half miles on flat surfaced paths. Meet at the Visitor Centre on Liverpool Road, Longton at 1pm.

Leyland Artists Exhibition, Leyland, from June 6 until July 1

This exhibition at Leyland Museum and Exhbition Centre is by Leyland Artists. They currently have 28 artists producing work in watercolour, acrylics, oils, pastel and ink and wash.

War of the Roses, Hoghton, Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10

The Sir John Saviles Household are back at Hoghton Tower for the third year running for this War of the Roses re-enactment. There will be two days of encampments, living history, demonstrations, drills and more! Great fun for all the family is promised. It’s all happening at Hoghton Tower near Preston.
