TRAVEL ALERT: M6 closure

Drivers are advised that the M6 is currently closed between junctions 13-12 southbound in Staffordshire.

This is due to an HGV trailer fire overnight and requires emergency resurfacing before the road can reopen to traffic.

The road is expected to reopen around 4pm on Saturday.

A diversion route is in operation.

Traffic is advised to leave the M6 southbound at junction 13 and follow the hollow circle symbol via the A449 southbound through Penkridge. At Gailey Island take the A5 eastbound to re-join the M6 at junction 12.
