Eat you heart out Andrew Lloyd Webber!
That was the message from St Joseph’s Primary School, in Chorley, which has just staged its own production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
Family and friends flocked to the school hall for the shows on July 5-6.
They were inspired after around 80 children from the school attended a professional performance of Lord Lloyd Webber’s famous show at the Liverpool Empire theatre in April.
When they got back to St Joseph’s the pupils auditioned and were assessed for the singing and acting skills.
The lucky cast then attended an afterschool drama club.
Talented Theo Kirby got the the main lead of Joseph and youngsters spent six weeks learning the songs.
Kathy Blackledge praised all her staff but singled out Angela Stevens, a teaching assistant, who helped make the costumes.
The production received a standing ovation.
