A young Chorley beauty queen is set to embark on her latest fundraising mission and is calling on some of children’s favourite TV characters to help.
Chorley carnival princess Charlotte Williams will host a family fun day this upcoming weekend at the Coppull British Legion with special guests Paw Patrol, Fireman Sam and Doc McStuffins set to make an appearance.
Southlands High School pupil Charlotte has organised the party for Saturday June 18 in a bid to raise vital funds for local charities, the The Rosemere Cancer Foundation, Ronald Macdonald House, Headway - the brain injury association.
She has already raised £123 for children’s charity Solving Kids Cancer and £42 for Wigan and Leigh Hospice.
Mum Lisa said: “Charlotte is a kind caring generous young lady who puts her heart into fundraising for all amazing causes.
“She is always coming up with new ideas. Her next pageant she is taking part in is Face of the NW if she is lucky enough to win she will be going to Euro Disney to compete but either way we are so proud of the hard work she is doing for charity.
Charlotte, who also holds Lancastrian Junior queen title, took part in her first pageant last year to help boost her confidence and make new friends.
That time she raised £335 for North West Air Ambulance and £394 for Breast Cancer Care.
Lisa added: “She is now happy to talk in public and on a microphone. It has transformed her into a confident young lady and she has lots of pageant friends they are very supportive of each other.
“She wanted to take part in pageant to make a difference as they all support a charity.”
Next month Charlotte will also host a carnival queens competition on July 3 from 11am at Coppull British Legion in Springfield Road
The event will also include a cake sale and raffle.
