Olivia Richardson and Macey Martin, who are both nine and attend St Bede’s Catholic Primary School, had 13 inches cut off at Aurora Hair and Beauty, in Leyland.Their efforts raised more than £400, which will be split between the Little Princess Trust and Cancer Research UK.Olivia’s mum, Collette, of Clayton-le-Woods, said: “This kind hearted gesture from the girls all started as I was following the story of Braiden Prescott, of Wigan, on Facebook and Olivia asked why he had no hair and looked so poorly. Sadly he died last year.“She understood about cancer after losing her nana, Pamela Richardson to cancer in 2011. Olivia was just three.“She took it upon herself to watch YouTube videos and came across the Little Princess Trust. She then asked if she could donate her hair and raise money for the children who had cancer. “When Macey found out Olivia was doing it, she wanted to join in. Her grandma was losing her hair from chemotherapy after battling cancer, so she wanted to do it for her.“I’m so proud of both the girls.“Their school has also been very supportive and helped with fund-raising.”

The Little Princess Trust provides real-hair wigs, free of charge, to boys and girls that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment and other illnesses.Read more at: http://www.lep.co.uk/news/kind-seven-year-old-donates-hair-for-cancer-cause-1-7742852To support Olivia and Macey visit http://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Oliviaandmacey
