Bike rider and passenger in ‘serious’ condition

A MOTORBIKE passenger was airlifted to hospital after a crash in Euxton.

A red Nissan Almera, driven by a 49-year-old Euxton woman, came out of to Highways Avenue and on to Balshaw Lane, towards Chorley, at 9am on Saturday, and collided with a KTM 690cc motorcycle, travelling along the main road towards the A49.

The rider, a 22-year-old man from Coppull, and the pillion passenger received serious multiple injuries, and were taken to the Royal Preston Hospital.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “The rider is stable, and the pillion passenger is described as serious but no major cause for concern.

“The driver of the Nissan was taken to Chorley Hospital with cuts to her face and arm. The road was closed for three hours to allow for investigations to take place.”
