Chorley-based Raising the Roof Media secured the brief from BID Preston to create its latest Christmas TV commercial which is now airing in a high impact campaign across Granada.
Head of Production for Raising the Roof Media, Mark Oulson-Jenkins said: “This advert is a lot of fun and has really captured the festive spirit of the City.
“We were very lucky to be working with such amendable locations such as Preston train station, St George’s Shopping Centre, Debenhams and Teddy Bear Mountain and I think the advert also reflects how much the cast and crew also enjoyed making it.”
The fun and festive 20 second creation sees elves arriving at Preston train station before shopping in key high street stores for all the boys and girls on Santa’s ‘nice list’.
Meanwhile, Santa and Rudolph sample the restaurants on offer in the City and chief elf parties the night away, all reflecting the strapline, Preston – Santa’s Best Kept Secret.
Filmed on location using only four elves on the day, the production team used green screen techniques to create the impression that the station and stores were overrun with elves buying toys ready for Christmas.
Not limited to solely reflecting Preston’s retail offering, the ad also captures the City’s nightlife, which saw the team filming on location in some of Preston’s best bars and restaurants including Hartley’s wine bar and Forum.
Funded by BID Preston, the advert was created to further enhance awareness of the City as a key driving force in the region that can compete with regional counterparts as the place to shop, dine, party and experience over Christmas.
Mark Whittle, Marketing Manager for BID Preston said: “Producing this advert was a key part of our marketing strategy and with the feedback we have already received feel we have exceeded what we set out to achieve.
“We have such a wealth of retail and entertainment available to shoppers in Preston and this advert reveals our ‘secret’ that we are keen to share.”
