The headline act for the Thursday – the spot taken by dance giants Faithless last year in a newly-extended Lytham Festival – will be revealed in the New Year.

The Friday night, traditionally an ’80s and ’90s night, has been extended to include some huge artists who came to the fore in the 1970s.

The ‘Mix Tape’ night will see stars from the 1970s including The Village People, Bay City Rollers, Earth Wind & Fire, while Toploader, 911, and Liberty X will represent the 1990s.

Eighties group 5 Star complete the line up so far.

“We work really hard to get everything in place as early as possible and it would seem that we are really on target for the year ahead in securing some great names.

Overall, Lytham Festival 2016 is looking pretty spectacular and with so much on offer which will appeal to such a wide audience we look forward to presenting a magnificent event.”

No details have yet been released for the wider festival, which last year saw events held at Lowther Pavilion, Lytham’s Assembly Rooms, and other venues. A literary festival also took place on Lytham’s Park View playing fields.
