Chorley businessman takes on Deloitte Ride Across Britain for MIND

A businessman has cycled almost 1,000 miles to raise funds for a charity which supports people with mental health issues.

A businessman has cycled almost 1,000 miles to raise funds for a charity which supports people with mental health issues.

Michael Godsmark, director of Woodville Accountancy in Chorley, joined 800 other cyclists to take on the Deloitte Ride Across Britain Event, which is the UK’s biggest supported Land’s End to John O’Groats bike ride.

He raised more than £3,600 for MIND.

“I’ve always thought about cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats and this seemed the perfect challenge.

“I researched it and found the Deloitte Ride Across Britain event. I also wanted to raise money for charity.

“MIND is a charity which is close to me as I’ve seen, sometimes with tragic consequences, the devastating effect mental health illnesses can have on people and families. MIND offers information and advice for people with these issues along with raising public awareness of them, so it fitted well with something I supported.”
