A man has been banned from driving after he failed to provide a urine sample in the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence. Martyn Kevin Wallbank, 44, from Conway Meadow, Clayton-le-Woods, pleaded guilty, and has been disqualified from holding a driving licence for 17 months. He was also fined £160 and must pay a £60 victim surcharge. His ban will be reduced by 17 weeks if he completes a course by September.
A woman has been found guilty of stealing £117.96 worth of whiskey from Morrisons in Chorley. Lelia Daniela Nina, 26, from St Vincent Avenue, Doncaster, took the four bottles whilst subject to a suspended sentence for a previous offence. She has been committed to prison for six weeks, because she “has a flagrant disregard for court orders”.
A man who drove in Balshaw Lane, Chorley, without due care and attention, has been fined £410. Lewis Jay Saunt, 26, from Blackburn Road, Whittle-le-Woods, pleaded guilty. Five points were added to his licence, and he must also pay a victim surcharge of £41 and costs of £85.
A man has been fined for breaking the 50mph speed limit on the slip road between the M6 and the M55. William James Mills, 34, from Meadow Street, Wheelton, admitted the offence, and three points were added to his licence. He was fined £250, and must also pay a victim surcharge of £25, and costs of £85.
A man who drove faster than the 30mph speed limit along the A49 Wigan Road in Euxton has been fined £130. Myles Stephen Mckenna, 42, from Cherryfields, Euxton, pleaded guilty. Six points were added to his licence, and he must also pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85.
A man who drove without wearing a seatbelt must pay a total of £250. Connor Anthony White, 21, from Queensway, Brinscall, admitted to the charge. He must pay a £145 fine, a £20 victim surcharge, and costs of £85.
A woman has confessed to breaking the 30mph speed limit in Eaves Lane, Chorley. Anne Janet Newsham, 33, from Coltsfoot Drive, Chorley, was fined £70, had three points added to her licence, and was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85.
A Chorley man has been fined for driving faster than a 50mph speed limit in Freckleton. Andrew Harrison, 47, from Cheshire Court, Buckshaw Village, pleaded guilty. He was fined £440, and must also pay a victim surcharge of £44 and costs of £85. Six points were added to his licence.
A Chorley man who failed to buy a £5.50 train ticket has been fined £220. Michael Jones, 20, from Silvester Road, was caught at Preston Railway Station. The case was proved in his absence, and he must also pay compensation of £5.50, a £22 victim surcharge, costs of £150, and a £150 criminal courts charge.
