Harry Hough, 41, and Louise Joanne King, 42, of Gloucester Road, Chorley, were both given a conditional discharge for 12 months for stealing Yankee candles worth £47.96 from Home and Fragrance Store in Preston. He had to pay £20 victim surcharge. The offence happened on August 14.

Steven Anthony Gaskell, 30, of Lewis Close, Adlington, was given a conditional discharge by Preston magistrates for 12 months for causing criminal damage to a window, worth £400. He had to pay £400 compensation. The offence happened on November 12.

Susan Jane Knowles, 46, of Carrington Road, Adlington, appeared before Preston Magistrates’ Court charged with two counts of theft. She stole alcohol worth £127 from Booths in Chorley on July 20 and alcohol worth £93 from the same supermarket on July 21. She was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and had to pay £220.60 compensation.

Michael Bailey, 23, of Delamere Place, Chorley, was fined £440 by Preston magistrates for travelling on a train without paying. He had to pay £44 victim surcharge, £5.70 compensation and £150 court costs. The offence happened on July 19 in Preston.
