Karl Christopher Hepworth, 26, of Progress Street, Chorley, was given a community order by Preston magistrates for stealing four batteries to the value of £780 from Ruttle Plant Hire in Chorley. He had to pay £150 costs and £85 victim surcharge. The offence happened on November 18.

Neil Ernest Rigby, 44, of Alder Close, Leyland, was given a community order with drug rehabilitation by Preston magistrates for driving whilst under the influence of drugs.
