Chorley Rymans fire: These were the scenes in the town centre as crews tackled fire at stationery shop

Shoppers watched on as fire crews tackled a fire in Chorley town centre on Saturday morning.

The “small” fire saw flames coming from the Rymans shop on Market Walk.

Fire engines scrambled to Flat Iron car park with passers-by kept away from the scene.

As our pictures show, they were able to watch on though with the incident under control by midday.

Flames were seen coming from the top of the store.

By 1pm almost all shops on Market Walk were open for business again.

Fire engines had to park on Flat Iron car park before making their way down Market Walk.
