Adlington man in court on murder charge

A 54-year-old man has appeared at Preston Magistrates Court charged with murder after a woman was found dead at a house in Adlington

Mark Dyson, of Harrison Road, Adlington, spoke only to confirm his name when he appeared in the secure dock, flanked by security guards.

Police were called to an address on Harrison Road shortly after 5pm after concerns were raised for a woman’s safety.

Carole Dyson was found dead at the scene.

A post mortem examination revealed Mrs Dyson died as a result of asphyxiation.

Mark Dyson was arrested and held in police cells for questioning.

He appeared briefly at Preston Magistrates Court today but was remanded in custody ahead of a bail hearing which will take place at Preston Crown Court on Friday May 2.
