Arrest over Chorley dog's head incident

A man has been arrested by police after a dog's head was found on the door handle of a Chorley house.

Chorley police said on Facebook tonight that a 26-year-old man from Lancaster had been detained after the incident in Astley Village.

Offciers said: “We have arrested a man after a dog’s head was found in Chorley.

“Police were called around 10am on Sunday to the Great Meadow area after the animal’s head was found on the door handle of an address.

“The dog was later confirmed to be a Yorkshire Terrier.

“Following extensive enquiries a 26-year-old man from Lancaster was arrested on suspicion of burglary and animal destruction yesterday.

“He has since been bailed to June 20, pending further enquiries.”
