A Chorley holidaymaker has spoken of her shock after she was caught up in a hotel fire in Mallorca.
Guests at the BH Mallorca Hotel in Magaluf were forced to flee for their lives after the blaze broke out in a room at the hotel on Sunday evening.
Flames quickly ripped through the building with firefighters having to rescue several people who were stranded on their balconies.
Thick black smoke billowed across the area and investigators now believe that the blaze has caused around €200,000 worth of damage to the hotel.
Investigators allege that the fire started after a prank went wrong.
Four British guests who were staying at the hotel appeared in court on Tuesday accused of sparking the blaze after they allegedly attempted to set fire to a friend's feet using a lighter and an aerosol can.
A holiday maker from Chorley, Hazel Bromiley who was caught up in the fire drama tweeted a shocking video showing black smoke pouring out of a room at her hotel.
She tweeted: "Literally in shock that this happened at our hotel # bhmallorca."
A Civil Guard source said: "After interviewing several witnesses they discovered that in the room where the fire started there were two women and three men, that one of them was asleep and that the other four were bothering him using a lighter and an aerosol on his feet."
No one was badly hurt in the incident, although several people including three Civil Guard officers had to be treated for smoke inhalation.
