A man has appeared in court accused of causing the death of a Chorley motorcyclist by driving without due care and attention.

Similolu James Shobayo, of Argyll Road, Blackpool, will next appear before Preston Crown Court on January 2, after Preston Magistrates’ Court committed the case there to be dealt with.

The 48-year-old is accused of causing the death of Simon Williams in Wigan Lane, Chorley, on April 12 while behind the wheel of a silver Audi car.

Mr Williams, a dad from Chorley who had 30 years riding experience, was riding a Triumph Daytona 675 motorbike which collided with the Audi at the junction with Duxbury Hall Road.

The 45-year-old died at the scene.

Shobayo was granted unconditional bail by the bench until his next appearance.
