Phone parcel theft
A MAN has been found guilty of stealing two parcels containing phones from Royal Mail Ltd in Preston after a trial.
David Brown, 40, of Fairfield Avenue, Rossendale, East Lancashire, was jailed for six months after a court heard he stole items worth a total of nearly £1,000.

Hide AdPreston Magistrates’ Court heard he was in a position of trust which aggravated his sentence.
The offences happened in September last year.
CHORLEY: Carl Watson, 47, of Hollinshead Street, Chorley, is to be sentenced before Preston crown Court on June 14 after admitting possessing a knife and causing actual bodily harm to a neighbour.
Preston Magistrates’ Court remanded him into custody after he admitted the slashing attack on Hollinshead Street last month.
LEYLAND: Andrew Baines, of Elswick Road, Leyland, was discharged conditionally for two years after admitting assaulting a woman in the town.

Hide AdHowever the 48-year-old defendant must pay his victim £50 in compensation, and pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs, Chorley magistrates ruled.
CHORLEY: Philip Lewis, 41, of Cotswold Road, Chorley, was discharged for six months after admitting three thefts, including a clock worth £75.
He was ordered to pay £112 compensation to Booths and Birkacre Garden Centre.
CHORLEY: James Brennand, of Sampson Close, Chorley, was given a curfew after being found guilty of assaulting a man following a trial.

Hide AdThe 28-year-old was also ordered to pay his victim £330 compensation by Chorley Magistrates’ Court.
He must also pay a £60 victim surcharge and £620 prosecution costs.
PRESTON: Amy Spelman, 24, of Watling Street Road, Ribbleton, was jailed for 20 weeks after admitting a string of shopliftings and a charge of going equipped for theft with a foil lined carrier bag.
Preston magistrates heard she targeted ASDA in Fulwood and Sports Direct. She admitted four thefts.

Hide AdPRESTON: Stuart Brown, 30, of Charles Crescent, Preston, must do 40 hours unpaid work after admitting stealing £480 goods from Morrisons on three occasions and must pay a £60 surcharge and £85 costs.
Robert Holmes, 39, of Lytham Road, Freckleton, was found guilty of failing to wear a seatbelt and must pay a £220 fine, £22 surcharge, and £85 costs.
Kane Maddran, 18, of Windsor Road, Eccleston, Chorley, was given a curfew and a restraining order after admitting assaulting a female relative and must pay a £60 surcharge and £85 costs.
Jacob Aislabie, 20, of Kingsway, Heysham, near Lancaster, was found guilty of failing to wear a seatbelt and must pay a £220 fine, £22 surcharge, and £85 costs.

Kevan O’Donohue, 41, of Hallwood Road, Chorley, admits driving while using a mobile phone and must pay a £40 fine, £20 surcharge, and £40 costs.
Phillip Neil Parrish, 29, of Fishergate Hill, Preston, was discharged conditionally for 12 months after admitting interfering with a white Audi vehicle and must pay a £20 surcharge.
Colin Breeze, 32, of Millbourne Street, Blackpool, was discharged conditionally for 12 months after admitting damaging a Preston woman’s coffee table and must pay £20 compensation, a £20 surcharge and £85 costs.

Hide AdMichael Begley, 28, of Anderton Crescent, Chorley, was found guilty of failing to pay his rail fare and must pay a £220 fine, £22 surcharge, £5.20 compensation and £150 costs,
Jordan Disley, 21, of School Street, Leyland, was found guilty of failing to pay his rail fare and giving a false name or address and must pay a £440 fine, £44 surcharge, £4.30 compensation and £150 costs.
Seren Orton, 57, of St. Pauls Square Preston was bound over for 12 months in the sum of £100 after admitting breaching the peace.
