Jail for woman, 36 who ‘stalked’ man
A woman who has persistently stalked and harassed a Preston man has been jailed by magistrates for 16 weeks.
Feroza Yusuf Ali, of Dodgson Road, Preston, previously had a restraining order but committed her latest misdemeanours shortly after it expired,

Hide AdThe 36-year-old defendant admitted charges of stalking and harassment in a hearing before Preston Magistrates’ Court.
The bench said her offences had “ involved planning” and that she “ignored distress to the victim”.
She had a history of failing to comply with community orders, prosecutors said.
The court heard Ali phoned her victim at his place of work and turned up outside his home.

Racist incident against newsagent
A man has been given a suspended jail term over a racist incident involving a shopkeeper.
Daniel Michael Hives, of Further Field, Bamber Bridge, was found guilty of using racially aggravated threatening or abusive behaviour towards newsagent Ravindrarajah Thurairajah on
November 11, with intent to cause him fear violence would be used.

Hide AdThe 22-year-old was jailed for 13 weeks but the court agreed to suspend the term for 12 months.
The bench said the offence was committed in drink and was serious.
He was ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work and was given a restraining order banning him from A and P Newsagents on Station Road.
He must pay a £115 surcharge and £620 costs.

Raymond Davies, 53, of Westminster Place, Eccleston, Chorley, was banned for 36 months and given 100 hours unpaid work after admitting drink driving, being disorderly, and having no insurance, and must pay £85 costs.
Robert Hughes, 37, of Eaves Lane, Chorley, was banned for 36 months after admitting drink driving, and must pay a £521 fine, £52 surcharge and £85 costs.

Kenneth Goulthorpe, 42, of Chorley Road, Adlington, Chorley, was given a curfew after admitting possessing amphetamine, and must pay an £85 surcharge and £85 costs.
Louise King, 41, of Gloucester Road, Chorley, was given six weeks in prison suspended for a year after admitting stealing a jacket and must pay a £60 compensation and a £115 surcharge.
Jasmine Barker, 21, of Miller Brow, Forton, was found guilty of failing to give driver ID and must pay a £660 fine and £85 costs.
