Another 25-year-old man who was wounded in the fracas outside Chester's takeaway in Pall Mall has now been discharged from hospital.

Armed police were called to the scene of the stabbing on Friday, May 11 with one officer drawing his gun as they arrested a man, believed to be from Chorley, on suspicion of attempted murder.

A second officer also drew a taser although neither weapon was fired, police said.

Police in the area witnessed a ‘disturbance’ at the fast food restaurant at around 6pm and when they went inside found a man with ‘serious injuries’ after being stabbed.

They called for backup and witnesses reported a heavy police presence in the area.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said on Friday night: "Police officers parked nearby saw a disturbance and when they went into the takeaway they found a man suffering from stab wounds.

"He has been taken to the Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries. They are not thought to be life threatening at this time.

"A second man from Chorley, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder.

“The officers who responded were from the armed response unit. One of these officers drew a sidearm and the other a taser. Neither weapon was fired.”

An investigation is on-going and police had cordoned off the takeaway on Friday.

A nearby resident said she saw one person with a bandage around their head and around five police cars were at the scene.

Officers took vehicles from the scene and the air ambulance landed nearby, she added.
