A number of parked cars were badly damaged as police tried to apprehend a driver suspected of motoring offences.
Officers say the man collided with several vehicles as he tried to evade arrest.
A spokesman said a silver Vauxhall Zafira was spotted travelling at speed through Chorley town centre, apparantly with no tyre on one of its front wheels. A short time later a similar car was seen by a patrol on Progress Street.
In an attempt to leave the scene the driver collided with a number of vehicles parked in both Progress Street and Fielden Street, causing extensive damage.
A man was arrested nearby and questioned at Chorley Police Station about a variety of serious motoring offences. Later a male was charged with driving with excess alcohol, dangerous driving and making off without paying for fuel.
He was also accused of handling stolen goods and a number of other motoring offences in relation to having no documents. He was due in court today.
