POLICE WARNING: Residents in Lostock Hall should lock doors when at home
The thefts which are described by police as "sneak in burglaries" usually take place in the evenings through insecure doors, say police.
Victims of the crimes have reported that handbags, wallets and mobile phones have been stolen in the thefts.

Hide AdA spokesman for South Ribble Police said in a post to their Facebook page: "Reminder to all Lostock Hall residents - we have had a number of reports over the previous week for sneak in burglaries from 7-11pm in the evening.
"Access has been through a rear insecure door. Handbags, wallets, mobile phones have been stolen from kitchen sides.
"A reminder to all residents to make sure you lock your doors and windows even if you are in the address."
