Prisoner with links to Preston and Chorley goes on the run

A prisoner with links to Preston and Chorley has fled from HMP Hatfield in Yorkshire, sparking a cross-county manhunt.

Police in Doncaster are asking for the public's help to trace wanted man Philip Lee, who has absconded from an open prison.

The 30-year-old disappeared from HMP Hatfield on Thursday, November 12, where he has been serving a five and a half-year sentence for burglary.

South Yorkshire Police said efforts are ongoing to locate Lee, who has links to Preston, Chorley, Blackburn and other parts of Lancashire.

The force said it is possible that Lee might have returned to his home county of Lancashire and is asking people to report any possible sightings.

But police are urging members of the public who see Lee not to approach him, but to call 999 immediately.

Lee is described as being around 5ft 10, with very short brown hair and tattoos on his right arm. He was last seen wearing light blue jeans or trousers and a light blue long sleeved top.
