Jonathan Bridge, the Communications and Emergency Planning Manager, has confirmed to the Post that they have passed this matter to the police.

Leyland resident Eileen Winterbottom said: “I was out walking on Friday morning by Fat Sam’s in Leyland and two people from the council told us a sign from the centre had been moved so it was pointing towards Tesco rather than School Lane.”

Another resident, Karl Brooks, said in a Facebook post: “My girlfriend was out for a walk on Thursday and saw an old man, clearly lost looking for the vaccination centre.

“He’d walked all the way from the centre of Leyland as well as walking up and down Wheelton Lane a couple of times looking for it.

"My girlfriend pointed him in the right direction (and kindly offered to take him, to which he politely refused) but by this point he had given up and he trotted off home.”

It is feared that the signs were stolen by anti-vaxxers, but this is yet to be confirmed.

Lancashire Police have been contacted for comment.
