Police are appealing for information after nearly £17,000 worth of suspension mountain bikes and parts were stolen from a business in Coppull.
The burglary took place sometime between 6.30pm on Saturday 7 February and 11am on Sunday 8 February, at the Coppull Enterprise Centre on Mill Lane.
It is thought that the unknown offenders gained access to the main building by smashing a window and opening a fire exit door.
Once inside they have approached the Bounce Rivington Leisure unit and forced open the locked wooden door to the workshop.
A total of six high value bikes were taken, brake and gear cabling and suspension forks along with the till, an iMac computer and £500 in cash.
DC Dom Webster of Skelmersdale CID said: “This was a newly established specialist business which has been hit badly by this awful burglary. We are determined to find those responsible for this crime. I would urge anyone with information about the incident or anyone who may have been offered items like those stolen to get in touch via 101 quoting log number 538 of February 8th.”
