Fire and police crews are still at the scene where a huge fire has destroyed shops in Chorley town centre.

The fire, which is believed to have started in the Amalfi restaurant, has closed off Cleveland Street and High Street.

Nearby Cash Converters has also been heavily damaged and the Post Office has been closed for emergency crews.

The fire started at around 3.58am this morning (Thursday) and flats above the restaurant were also evacuated while crews battled the flames.

It is thought demolition may start on the building as early as this afternoon.
