Driver rescued after motorway smash
One person has been cut free from a vehicle after a smash on the M6.
Fire engines from Preston, Bamber Bridge and Leyland were called to the crash on the northbound carriageway at J28, at about 4.15am on Sunday.
A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the collision involved one vehicle, and when firefighters arrived at the scene the driver was trapped inside.

Hide AdFirefighters used cutting equipment to free the driver, who was then treated by paramedics.
Highways England said the exit slip road at Leyland was closed, and advised motorists to use a different exit.
