Chorley’s new found fame at the Chelsea Flower Show is being celebrated with a special exhibition in the town.
The Lodge Artists Society is holding an exhibition of paintings in the Astley Park Farmhouse Gallery on the theme of ‘Blooming Beautiful Brushworks’, in celebration of Chorley in Bloom’s floral displays around the borough and the recent success at Chelsea Flower Show.
The exhibition shows original paintings by members in various media on the subject of flowers, nature, spring, and the countryside.
There is a also a special painting, donated by one of the group’s visiting artists, which will be raffled off during the exhibition to raise money for Derian House Children’s Hospice.
Admission is free, and opening times are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from midday until 3.30pm.
It runs until August 2.
The society welcomes art enthusiasts of all ages and abilities to join and enjoy painting.
Meetings are held every Wednesday from 7.30pm until 9.30pm at Brinscall and Withnell Athletic and Recreational Association, School Lane, Brinscall.
