Chorley FC is encouraging fans to join them at a special celebration to mark their success.

Hundreds of people are expected to flock to Chorley town centre on Friday evening to celebrate with the team, manager and dignitaries.

Local singers will perform on a stage on the Flat Iron car park from 7pm, before the team show off their trophy.

The manager and players will address the audience and take part in a question and answer session.

Fans will then have the opportunity to get autographs and have their photographs taken with the trophy and some of the players.

The event, organised by Chorley Council, is expected to finish at around 8pm.

Gary Hall, the council’s chief executive, said: “Chorley Football Club’s league title and promotion is a fantastic achievement and we are delighted for the club, the fans and the town.

“The event on Friday will be a great opportunity for the club to say thank you to the fans for their support this season and we hope to see lots of people there celebrating.”

Graham Watkinson, vice chairman of Chorley FC, added: “The support we’ve received throughout the season and since we’ve won the title has been amazing and we’d like to thank Chorley Council for organising this event.

“We hope to see as many fans as possible attending on Friday as we want to show our appreciation for their support and encouragement.”
