Fears person was trapped after chip pan fire in Chorley
Firefighters raced to fire at a second-floor flat in Chorley amid fears someone was trapped in the property.
Crews were called to the scene of the fire at Blackstone Road shortly after 10pm on Saturday.
A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Three fire engines and crews, two from Bamber Bridge and one from Chorley, were assigned to a fire in a second-floor flat where it was reported someone may be trapped.
"The contents of a chip pan had burnt out without the fire spreading and no-one was injured.
"Firefighters used a portable fan unit to extract smoke from the premises."
