A financial planning firm has raised £550 for Chorley and District MS Society.
True Bearing, in Buckshaw Village, held a fund-raising day in aid of the group, to assist with medical equipment, support for people affected by MS and research into better ways of combating the illness.
The MS Society is very close to the heart of Terri Green, marketing manager at True Bearing, as her brother was diagnosed with the condition which affects the nerves more than five years ago.
Susan Peary, managing director at True Bearing, said: “Each year we ask our team which charities they would like to support. Terri approached us with the story of her brother who receives much needed support from the Chorley MS Society and we instantly knew we had to help support the fantastic work that they do. Terri’s hard work paid off with a fund-raising day, and we as always, were overwhelmed with the generosity of our team at True Bearing.”
Rebecca Procter, finance volunteer for Chorley and District MS Society, added: “We are very grateful for the support that True Bearing has given to us, without this we couldn’t continue to help so many who are affected by this condition in Chorley and the surrounding areas.”
True Bearing supports numerous charities and has a strong corporate social responsibility workplace ethic.
It has a 12-month rolling programme where charities are identified and fund-raising initiatives are carried out to help those who need it the most.
In addition to the MS Society, it has recently made food donations to Chorley Help the Homeless, donated a defibrillator to Gillibrand Primary School through the Hand on Heart charity and acted as a drop off point for Rock FM’s Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal.
